Q: Is there a membership fee?
A: No, initially we ask you to bring £10 cash to cover your breakfast. When you become a member we expect all members to set up a standing order with their bank for £40* per month to cover breakfast costs. *from 1 January 2023.
Q: Do I have to attend meetings every week?
A: No, but we do expect members to attend on average at least twice a month to show commitment.
Q: Will there be trades or businesses in the same field as myself?
A: At Ferndown Business Network we aim as much as possible to avoid direct competition between like-for-like businesses.
Q: What’s for breakfast?
A: Breakfast is a buffet style meal serving hot food and cold dishes plus tea and coffee throughout the meeting.
Q: Who can join?
A: Ferndown Business Network encourages all business types and trade professionals to come along regardless of size or turnover. We are the Goldilocks of networking, no one is too big, and no one is too small, but with one small caveat:
To be fair to existing members, Ferndown Business Network does not encourage businesses to overlap when a member of your trade or profession is already attending. You can, if you wish, go onto our waiting list where you will be notified when a place becomes available.
Q: Do I have to find business referrals for other members
A: If you are happy with the services that a particular member of Ferndown Business Network has supplied then a referral is always welcome, but you do not have to find referrals for other members as a prerequisite for joining.
Q: Is there anything else I should know?
A: New members must be fully qualified in their field of expertise or profession and have suitable insurance where required. You may be asked for proof of these when applying to join Ferndown Business Network.
